Second lost tooth. He lost this tooth at school. I think it is funny that he is wearing the same shirt as when he lost his first tooth. He doesn't believe in the tooth fairy.
At his parent teacher conference we learned that this boy of ours has been letting everyone know in his class that he is the smartest kid in the class and that he speeds through his work so he can be the first one done. His teacher has been having to take his work while she explains it to the class so that he doesn't finish it before she is done explaining it. The problem is that he usually completes the work correctly. So we had a talk about how he can believe in himself and how he can think in his head I am smart but that he doesn't need to brag. We also told him that he needs to make sure he is always doing his best handwriting and best work and that he needs to make sure he listens to all directions before he starts his work. He also argued with his teacher about not using more color on his pumpkin patch. She is trying to challenge him by giving him mazes and the ipad when he finishes his work early. She also said he is a great helper at helping her teach the class. He would love to be in 3rd grade but I don't know that testing him out of 1st and 2nd would be a good idea because I'm not sure he is mature enough. We are proud of this boy and everything his teacher said wasn't a surprise. We just hope she can find a way to challenge him. We told her to contact us if there is anything else that we need to chat about at home. He has come home everyday and told me I thought I am the smartest all day but I didn't tell anyone. Got to love him, we are happy he believes in himself. |
