Camping

Setting up camp.

Tent hair.

I was trying to sneak a picture of Avery. He has become camera shy.

Enjoying a good book.

Playing card games.

Logan insisted that we needed a kissing picture.

A good balanced meal even when camping. It was so yummy!

Sleeping time. Night Night!

We all had a good laugh when Avery came out looking like this when it was getting cold.

Roasting marshmallows.

We enjoyed a small hike to a waterfall.

Logan had fun doing some mining. He found lots of treasures such as gold, iron, diamond, and silver. What a lucky a guy!

We had planned on going camping the previous week but the weather was too rainy. So we were only able to go for 2 nights this week. We headed up on Thursday around noon. We had fun setting up camp and relaxing. We spent the evening around the campfire eating dinner and roasting marshmallows. Friday morning we woke up to a little rain which postponed breakfast and the days activities. Around lunch time we headed out for a hike to a waterfall. That night we enjoyed cobbler and some more time around the campfire. Then we played some card games together before bed. Saturday morning we woke up and ate breakfast and headed home. It was shorter than I would have liked but an almost perfect camping trip.

Lastly, I want to write an experience we had more for me since this is as close to a journal that I get. As we entered the campground Joseph saw some money on the road. We pulled over and picked it up. We talked briefly about what we should do and everyone agreed that we should turn it into the camp host. The camp host was able to find the person it belonged to and gave us back the money so that we could return it to them. We were all able to walk over and give the family the 60 dollars they had dropped. They were so very grateful for all of our honesty. I was glad that we were able to have such a great teaching moment at that time.

Home Improvement

Joseph made a spice rack that I saw on Pinterest.

We made a quick shelf out of scrap wood so that we could add some vertical space to our shed.
We installed a new ceiling fan.

We finished installing the other half of our new windows this year.
We replaced our screen door.

Bike Ride

We have enjoyed a few bike rides this summer and hope to enjoy a couple more before summer is over. Logan really likes riding on the back of Joseph's bike. I was really impressed with Aurora on this ride because she made it all the way up 40th street (which is a good sized hill). We went from our house to the Ogden Parkway then to Walmart in Riverdale and then back to our house. When we were all done Logan said, "Man you are all sweaty!" He doesn't get too sweaty because Joseph does most of the work.

Pops Concert

We had fun at the annual pops concert.

Oregon Trip

We went to Oregon for the 4th of July weekend to visit Joseph's side of the family. The kids enjoyed a ton of swimming. We also went to Eagle Island with some family and enjoyed more swimming there.

Avery's 13th B-day

I can barely believe that we now have a teenager. Boy time sure does fly! We are sure grateful to have Avery as our son. He is such a sweet and kind  young man and we are so proud of the man he is becoming. He is still enjoying scouts and chess club and he is an awesome student and his grades show it. We are trying to enjoy every moment we have with him and our other kids because they are all growing up way to fast.

St George

Baby Jaxon

In June Aurora, Logan and I headed down to St. George for a few days to help out my Brother and sister in-law with their daughter Penelope because they had just had a new baby boy. We had a ton of fun playing with the cousins. I am one lucky aunt to have such cute nieces and nephews on both sides of our family.
