| We had planned on going camping the previous week but the weather was too rainy. So we were only able to go for 2 nights this week. We headed up on Thursday around noon. We had fun setting up camp and relaxing. We spent the evening around the campfire eating dinner and roasting marshmallows. Friday morning we woke up to a little rain which postponed breakfast and the days activities. Around lunch time we headed out for a hike to a waterfall. That night we enjoyed cobbler and some more time around the campfire. Then we played some card games together before bed. Saturday morning we woke up and ate breakfast and headed home. It was shorter than I would have liked but an almost perfect camping trip. Lastly, I want to write an experience we had more for me since this is as close to a journal that I get. As we entered the campground Joseph saw some money on the road. We pulled over and picked it up. We talked briefly about what we should do and everyone agreed that we should turn it into the camp host. The camp host was able to find the person it belonged to and gave us back the money so that we could return it to them. We were all able to walk over and give the family the 60 dollars they had dropped. They were so very grateful for all of our honesty. I was glad that we were able to have such a great teaching moment at that time. |
