City of Rocks

Avery and Joseph spent this last weekend in Idaho at the City of Rocks with Avery's scout troop. Avery was able to earn his rock climbing merit badge. He goes on monthly camp-outs with his troop and Joseph decided to go on this one so we have a lot of pictures. They both enjoyed themselves and had fun climbing the rocks.
Last month he went to Jonhston's Army Adventure camp where they learned about the Civil War and had the chance to shoot a musket.

Joseph's Birthday

Here is the Captain America cake I made for Joseph's birthday.  I met Joseph and some of his co-workers after an awards ceremony for dinner and some drinks. I will write more about our first drinks on our other blog. We had a great time though and then went home to enjoy some cake with the kiddos.

Here is the present we got for him. It took him a couple of days of working on it on and off to solve it.

Date Night

Joseph and I spent an evening bike riding down to Rainbow Gardens and then we biked along the Bird Song trail until it ended at 20th street. It was a great bike ride and a good time with my honey.

Family Fun

This past weekend the weather was beautiful. We spent Saturday afternoon at the tennis courts and park. We all enjoy playing tennis. Logan had a good time teaching me how to play and apparently I wasn't that great because  I only got one point. Logan plans to teach me how to play golf because he thinks he is a pro because he has been playing Mario golf. The video is showing Aurora doing a pull-up. Sunday we went and watched the Lego movie which was a cute movie. Logan said it was the greatest movie ever.

Dinosaur Park

Logan, his friend and I had an enjoyable day at Dinosaur Park. Logan was our leader and lead us all over the park., we had a great time exploring many paths.

DARE Graduation

Avery graduated from DARE. He wasn't all that excited for this and is mostly looking forward to moving onto  Junior High. He has disliked learning these songs and doesn't like being treated like a little kid, I think he may have been happy that he was in the back. We are proud of Avery and all the good choices he has made thus far. We are hopeful that we will all survive the teenage years.

Zoo Field Trip

Aurora went to the zoo with the 3rd grade. She had a great time and was able to see the animals this time. Last time we went she couldn't see much because the scar tissue had not been cleared.
