Aurora is 5

Aurora is excited she is now 5. She loved all the presents and is excited to now be a girls scout. She went to her first girl scout activity the day before her birthday. She also loves the way money smells and she is excited that she now has more money than Avery. Our kids love saving their money and both have around 100 or more. I like to tell them that they are richer then us.

Avery's First Day of Third Grade

Avery was excited to go back to school. He will learn how to write in cursive this year. He was excited that he has already learned how to write it in cursive.

Ward Campout

Last weekend we set off on another camping trip with our ward. We had a great time with all our ward members. That night Joseph went home to do our paper route and I camped with the kids. The next morning we woke up and enjoyed breakfast. Joseph called our friend to let us know he was on his way to come get us and jokingly said that there had been another wreck. James responded that he had heard about the wreck. I think Joseph thought he was playing along when James told him that there was a meat truck that had wrecked and that there was meat all over the road. Luckily the road hadn't been closed and he could still get through. It took him about an hour longer then it would have but he did make it. I hope the curse is broken next year when we set off to do some camping.

Cute Conversation with the Kids

About a month ago I was in the car with the kids driving home when Aurora asked, “Why don't I have any eye browns?" I told her she had some but they were blond and harder to see. Then Avery said," What are eye brows for?" I told him I wasn't sure when Aurora said, “They are so you can tell if someone is happy or sad."

New Job

After a little over a year of looking for a teaching position Joseph finally landed a job. It was really only his second interview. He nailed the interview and was called the very next morning. He had orientation on Friday and started working on Monday. Classes begin on Wednesday.
We are looking forward to getting out of the paper route business the end of October. He is working at Two Rivers High an alternative high school.

Lagoon

We had a fun-filled day at Lagoon this year. Logan got to go on a few rides this year. We also got to watch a bird show. These birds were amazing to watch. The kids really liked seeing all the neat tricks the birds could do. We saw one bird ride a bike, a scooter, and push a shopping cart while putting groceries into it. It was very entertaining.

Swimming

The kids and I enjoyed a day at the pool.

Rainbows

Aren't rainbows beautiful?

Waterslides

We all enjoyed going to the waterslides. Logan even had fun going down them. He really likes the water. Avery and Aurora both learned how to go down by themselves this year. Avery found out that it isn't so bad.

Logan found the Pizza

Logan was able to reach Aurora's piece of pizza she left on the table. When I went in the kitchen to check on Logan because he was being so quiet this is what I found. He really likes pizza as you can tell.

Indian Trail Hike

We have enjoyed a few hikes this summer. The kids made it the whole 4.3 miles. Aurora really liked this hike and wants to do it again. Logan is even a trooper when it comes to hiking.
